By the end of the semester, the students are expected to be able to make inferences or in simple terms, the ability to use two or more pieces of information from a text in order to arrive at a third piece of information that is implicit. In regard to be able to be good at inferring, the students should be able to understand the meaning of a term “inferential reading comprehension” and they should also be able to identify patterns of organization of text and to master some sub skills necessary for making inferences such as inferring supporting details, inferring the main idea, inferring sequence, inferring comparisons, inferring cause and effect relationship, and inferring character traits
